We wanted to share with you that on Sunday we sponsored a bus (filled with 40
women) to participate the New York City - Race for the Cure. It's a 5K
run/walk through Central Park that is a fundraiser for breast cancer research
sponsored by the Susan Komen Foundation. Our youngest participant was 4
months old and our oldest 70 years. We carried a sign that said
             Lactation Resource Center
                      Chatham, NJ
reducing the risk of breast cancer
one baby at a time .....
We had compiled a fact sheet of the research abstracts and citations that
support the claim that breastfeeding and being breastfed reduces one's risk
of breast cancer. We shared this sheet with all who were interested - esp.
handed them to hospital "teams" and breast cancer prevention center "teams".
