Nancy,

You wrote, "Contaminated breastmilk has also killed premies.'

This is the first time I have heard this. Would you elaborate on this and
provide us with references? I don't know too many premies nowadays that are
being fed breastmilk only. I would certainly like to know how the medical
examiners determined that it was just the breastmilk that killed those
premies. How do you factor out all the other possibilities? And
particularly when infants are given not just breastmilk, but also human milk
fortifiers and/or infant formula, how do you determine that it was
breastmilk?

I have never seen the category of contaminated breastmilk in regard to infant
deaths in my state vital statistics. And if that is a category in your
state, why isn't there the other category--death by infant formula? Actually
I'd love to see that happen, maybe we would finally get the real picture in
regard to the hazards of infant formula.
