What you described with the FTT baby being able to breastfeed well once the weight and strength came up has been my experience as well. If it takes a bottle to efficiently and effectively feed a baby and help them gain weight and strength, I'm for it.
I have picked up the attitude among some LCs I have known that the bottle is the enemy. I do not agree and believe that attitude turns a lot of parents off. Of course I want to see babies learn to nurse well before bottles are introduced. But in this imperfect world bottles are often introduced much earlier than I would like to see and breastfeeding continues on well.
Go figure.

I also agree greatly with Kay's post about not criticizing other HCPs. The older I get the more I've learned to withold judgement. I don't know every single detail of the story, only what I am seeing today in the clinic or hearing on the phone.

Best wishes to all,
Susan in Minnesota, USA
