In response to Michelle-

I have a knowledge assessment test that I used for an inservice that I would
be happy to fax-just send you number to me off list. It is very basic and
mostly covers common myths and advice that everyone seemed to be inconsistent
on.

A pre and post assessment in the form of a quiz (don't call it that) is a
great way to measure effectiveness of an inservice. It also meets
requirements of regulatory agencies (Joint Commission for one) very well. I
have also found that documentation to be a weak point so you can also measure
effectiveness with random chart audits as a measuring tool. You know the
rule, if it's not documented, it wasn't done.

Breastfeeding inservices should be mandatory-at least in my opinion.
Breastfeeding support is a basic competency in the MCH area.
