<My questions are, is the bleaching of the areolas a sign of long term yeast
infection?>
This is a good question!
I saw a woman yesterday with symptoms of thrush who had loss of pigmentation
over most of her areolae; when I pointed this out to her, she said this
happened in the pregnancy. I found this rather puzzling.
A dermatologist told me that women with dark skin can have loss of
pigmentation when they have dermatitis (instead of the red rash we see in
light-skinned women.
It would be good to have comments from a dermatologist about this.
