I have had several requests of late for referrals to individuals in the
western US. The states specifically requested tend to fall into the "fewer
people than in the east with spectacular scenery of all kinds" category.

To be exact, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota (espec. western part of the
state), Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Washington.
