I will leave the soy questions to the soy experts, but I did want to
respond that *no one* NEEDS milk besides mother's milk. There are
plenty of other ways to get protein and calcium -- how about leafy
greens, which incidentally is where cows get calcium to begin with?
Millions, billions of people around the world and throughout history
have managed just fine with no milk in their diets. We are so
thoroughly conditioned in our western culture to drink milk that to
propose doing otherwise is shocking to a lot of people.

Personal opinion here: breastmilk is the ideal beverage for babies
and children, and water is the ideal beverage for everyone else.
