It is too difficult for the nurses and the mother to add protein powder, calcium, phosphorus, iron, vit d, vit a etc, so we use a multinutrient fortifier. Also, an innapropeiate ca:phos ratio may cause neither to be absorbed.Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE smartphoneNancyNancy Wight [log in to unmask]: 858-493-0198"

That makes more sense.  And now I wonder: Could a premixed blend of those minerals be prepared, similar to how formula went from being a recipe mixed in hospitals and kitchens to being a prepared powder?  I guess adding the protein would still be difficult; where would it come from?  Any source is potentially allergenic.
