 When assisting a deaf mother to breastfeed,you could teach her how to
recognise nutritive & non-nutritive sucking.You dont need to hear a
swallow.She could feel her breasts before & after the feed to see that they
have softened(not so useful after the breasts have settled
pehaps).Also...what goes in comes out,so wet, & to a lesser extent dirty
nappies...& normal baby behaviour....& weight...& nipple shape post feed &
nipple pain.One thing though....how do they know when their baby is crying?
