There was a maternal child health related project in NYC called Text4Baby that started last year.  They sent out regularly scheduled "health tips" during pregnancy and I think up through the baby's first year of life.

They're considered to be a "successful" project at reaching people, although I'm not sure what exactly they were measuring to determine their success.
