I'm going to start up an email list for people interested in lobbying, monitoring etc infant feeding stuff in emergencies. I'm looking for a helper or to to assist me in the set up and running of this list. This list will have a worldwide membership and focus. There is real potential for a list like this to make a real difference. For eg, with the crisis in Georgia last year reports came through the media that US warships were bringing loads of infant formula to distribute as aid. A quick email to an IFE Core Group member resulted in USAID being alerted to this shipment and orgainising to accept it from the military. They then warehoused it where it could do no harm but was available if genuinely required.
Any takers? Please email me privately. I'm wanting to get this up an running in time for WBW.
