Lamisil is an expensive antifungal that is hard on the liver and often
doesn't work. It needs to be taken for a long time (12 weeks by my memory,
but don't quote me), and takes even longer to see results. And most
insurances aren't keen on prescribing it.

Better to treat the ingrown nail, but 1) ignore the fungus or 2) treat
the fungus with a safer, more natural method.
I have seen many methods used, including:
A) soaking foot in a 10% bleach solution for a few minutes each day
B) tea tree oil
C) topical "paint-on" antifungal solutions over the counter

I would certainly hate to see her wean a baby, go on an expensive harsh
medication, and still have it not work. Toenail fungus is notoriously hard
to treat, and usually not worth it if someone isn't diabetic, in my opinion.
