From 2001: This seems to be the reason for being turned down as a
non-profit group sharing breastfeeding information at WalMart.

According to Dave Barringer, vice president of marketing and public
relations for Goodwill International, the problem is national. "We
understand that Wal-Mart's decision resulted from a judge's ruling in a case
brought by a union under the Unfair Labor Standards Act," Barringer
explains. Unions contend that they should be allowed to solicit memberships
on Wal-Mart properties if nonprofits can solicit.

----------
But they fund a WalMart Foundation that gives out grants. Perhaps a group
can submit for a grant to promote breastfeeding. Here are their rules:
The cornerstone of Wal-Mart Good. Works. community involvement effort is our
Community Grant programs. All requests for funding must be directed to the
Good. Works. Coordinator at your local Wal-Mart store, SAM'S CLUB,
Neighborhood Market or Distribution Center. Proposals mailed directly to the
Wal-Mart Foundation will not be considered. For more information about the
Wal-Mart Foundation, call us at 800-530-9925.
