I get these off-the-screen messages sometimes too. Here's another clue:
sometimes these messages come through with the message repeated in that
tiny print at the bottom (what Kathleen has just told us is HTML coding)
and then they can be read.

If anyone knows the reason for this, or how we can correct it on the
receiving end, please let us know.

In the meantime Mary Alice, you may not have to miss those posts.  I
don't know if this is a Netscape/Mac thing, but I can go to that message
in the Archives, click on "Proportional font" (in the Options at the top
of the message), and the message becomes re-formatted to fit my screen.
