I got an interesting call today. A mom has a rotator cuff injury and her
physical therapist wants to treat it with a 10% corticosteroid ointment on
her shoulder and "drive it in" using ultrasound. I'm not concerned about the
ointment or the ultrasound, but I'm curious about this idea of using
ultrasound to "drive it in". Anybody ever heard of this? Does this actually
affect the level of cortisone in the body? Please respond privately.
Thanks!
