I have been promoting a policy in my hospital unit:
Do Not Feed an infant with respirations greater than 60 per minute.
The stated rationale:
The infant is unable to swallow between breaths and risks aspiration.

I was asked by a Family Practice MD for research based resources. I have
had a problem doing so. Can anyone point me to a search string on Lactnect
or site a resource? I know that I have heard this at many Lactation
Conferences but can't find the documentation.

I have been "no mail" for two years since my husband died. I have missed a
great deal! I am enjoying reading and learning from LN once again.

Thank you for the helping hand.
