I had a call today from a mother with a four week old baby, and a noticabley different supply one breast from the other. With her previous child she eventually breastfed unilaterally, but it was gradual, not as pronounced. We all know that unilateral feeding is possible--her question was if she should be checked by a health care provider, and if so, which one. I know there were previous references to unresolved engorgement being a sign of breast cancer--can a unilateral non-supply also be a red flag?
