I have been following this thread very closely. It has been weeks now that we have been discussing it. I don't have an opinion on the use of scales at this time, but I have repeatedly thought over and over as I have read various posters explain their position, and very adamantly in some cases, are there no studies on this topic? I haven't noticed any references used to support one position or another. Because I don't get to all the LactNet digests perhaps I have overlooked reference to studies on this topic.

Or perhaps we lack good studies or research on the efficacy of this practice? Just curious.

Regardless, I have found the dialogue very interesting and thought provoking.
