Hi Jodie
you ask about your lady:
Her complaint is that after she
> pumps, she has an uncomfortable tingling sensation in the ducts BEHIND
both
> nipples for approx. 15-20 minutes.

Apart from thrush, which I would expect to have nipple pain too,
I would want to know how long is she pumping for each session, I know you
said 8xday, but is she doing it for more than 30 mins?
I had forgotten about this until you reminded me, but when I was expressing
for my 2nd child I would get a sl tingly feeling in my breasts if I had
expressed to the point of them being so soft and 'flat' that it was almost
like I had 'sucked them dry'. Especially in the evening when the volume was
down to begin with. I have no scientific explanation for this, mind you ;-)
What if she tried expressing for less time, and increasing the frequency.
Dose she switch between sides during expressing? Eg do 5mins each side, 3
mins each side, then 2 mins (to equal 20 mins in total)each side OR switch
when the flow slows?
Maybe look at her technique?
Interesting.
