There was a lot of discussion on this a couple of months back, as I
asked in order to help Kristi Tullis do her excellent powerpoint
presentation to staff (email Kristi and she'll send it to you).

The results were a grape, a cherry tomato and a small normal sized
tomato for 1, 3 and 10 days old. Kristi used fruit in her presentation
to keep the link with food. I orginally thought a kiwi fruit might be a
better day 10, but tomatos were easier and cheaper! (Kristi split the
staff into small groups, and handed them a fruit selection from
blueberry up to grapefruit, and asked them to select the right fruit for
1, 3 and 10 days.)
