What is the current thinking on Domperidone out there. When is the ideal
time to commence it, I work in a maternity unit so therefore I am talking
about the early postnatal period. For example, if there is no supply on
Day 5, with no other circumstances inhibiting supply, would it be
reasonable to commence Domperidone, and if so what would be the usual
dose. Until recently we always gave Maxalon, so we are still finding our
way, and the medical officers are looking to us for guidance. Also, what
would be the expected term for treatment, that is, when would you look at
discontinuing the treatment. My other question is, we have been told not
to recommend fennugreek as a galactogogue because it causes hypoglycaemia
in the infant, has anyone seen any evidence to support or discount this.
