The Pakistani mother was told that she only had milk for one baby and that the
boy, being more valued than a girl in her society, not by herself!, should
receive hismother's milk. Others have told this as well.
But the story goes on. She fed both babies as well as she could, but the girl
was starving. She went to the clinic and there she was told that she would have
had more than enough nilk for both babies. Sadly it was too late for the girl,
she died shortly after the photo was taken. But the mother agreed to pose with
both of her children, because she wanted to help teach other mothers around the
world that starving babies is preventable by breastfeeding. She had a great urge
to prevent other mothers to have to loose a child because of ignorance as she
did.
She really is a brave woman and deserves everyones deepest respect.
