I'm so glad we're discussion various names for genitals!  Ok, that
sounds weird but I've been thinking/wondering/worrying about this for a
while.  Around here, your behind is your bum or occasionally, your
butt.  Boys and men have a penis and scrotum (except my MIL calls little
boys' penises their little "bird", I don't know why).  Now, here's the
problem: the front part of girls' bottoms.  Casey found her vagina about
a year ago, knows it's name and that it's where babies come out.
Lately, she's been wondering about where her pee comes out.  Once we
established that her pee did NOT come out of her vagina, she wanted to
know what that place is called then.  I dunno - urethra maybe??  Big
word for a little kid.  And then there's the labia-major and minor and
all the other stuff in there.  I know there's a vulva somewhere but
couldn't tell you *exactly* where. Isn't there one word that encompasses
all that stuff?  Other than "front bum"?  I feel so stupid.  I should
know this.  But who really pays attention in high school health class
when they teach you this stuff?  Oy!  I KNEW boys would be easier!!
