Ten years ago, when I was first cloth-diapering, one of the online diaper
shop owners, a Canadian, had a son who survived on breastmilk and little
more as a teenager. He apparently developed multiple chemical sensitivities
along with his food allergies, to the point that they had to move out of
their house and into one built with things that wouldn't off-gas, etc. He
was unbelievably thin and not thriving, but it was the only consistent food
option. IIRC, they would try other things for short periods and he would
inevitably begin to react.

It's certainly not optimal as a sole food source past toddler hood (imagine
the quantity one would need to feed a teenaged boy!), but it's rather
miraculous when the other option is death.
