Wow.  I guess I really heard things wrongly at the BSC conference and the
BFHI Benefit at which Miriam spoke.  I was under the impression that yes, the
SG position was going to be confirmed, and the successful candidate, of which
Miriam was on the short list, would be announced.  I understood that the
other two "running" against her were a podiatrist and (I think I heard) a
physician from the CDC.  We all were encouraged to write -- given an address,
etc.  Miriam was there and didn't correct us on any of this.

Help me out here -- any of you who were at the conference -- was I wishfully
imagining things?  I DO hope I don't have all this bolloxed up.
