Several years ago I did some research on vitiligo--there was a study 
that showed B12 and folic acid in combination with sun exposure was a 
very effective treatment. Vitiligo often shows up along with alopecia 
and thyroiditis. The homeopathic remedy silica is often used to treat 
both vitliligo and alopceia. If this were my client, I would refer her 
to a classically-trained homeopath. It makes no sense to me to use 
drugs like steroids and synthetic progestin in someone whose body is 
already in an inflammatory auto-immune condition. These drugs are 
suppressent, but they do nothing to heal the body. I would also love to 
see her have the type of testing that is done by naturopaths and 
holistic nutritionists (usually stool, urine and saliva tests), as I do 
not think serum tests are going to provide useful information.
