Hi all,
I agree on both sides of the fence of this discussion about babies need to
be breastfed, not just given breastmilk out of a bottle or other devices and
that we must be diligent in our quest to Support and Protect what the Code
stands for. But with all that said I am so very thankful that companies like
Medela have put the money into research to improve pump technology. At
present I have one client who's baby is on a ventilator with Tetralogy of
Fallot, genetic abnormalities and a feeding tube, another recovering from
heart and gastric surgery, another near SIDS death with feeding tubes and
even my own grandson born preterm shipped to another hospital 120 miles away
and placed on a ventilator and I could go on and on. Without good efficient
pumps these babies with the most desperate of need for their mother's milk
would have received AIM.
So for me and mine thank heaven for wonderful pumps and companies who are
willing to constantly look at ways to improve.
