Judy, Thanks for the response. Suggest you check out mu follow up note
posted on 7/29. Additionally, you may be interested to know she does not
replace the animal proteins she eliminates from her diet. Eats primarily
veggies, accasional pasta, rare egg or tuna dish; no legumes or soy
products. Doesn't sound like a well thought out vegetarian diet to me.
I'll suggest the magazine in addition to the literature I've already
given her. The recommendations for veggie cookbooks would be welcome,
thanks.
By the way, just noticed that you're on the advisory board for American
Baby Mag--or is there another Judy Fram, IBCLC? Can't you do something
about that mags approach to breastfeeding? The July issue had an article
with incorrect data about supplementing breastfed babies with Vit D and
Fe (check the archives for 1st week or 2 in July to see what some fellow
lactnetters thought of it); now in the August issue there's no mention
of a correction and only one small blurb on pg. 6 regarding
Breastfeeding Awareness week. My letter is going out to the editor
today; they've been sending me free issues to give out in my prenatal
class. I quit giving them out several months ago when I started to
suspect their lack of support with breastfeeding, now they're going into
the trash. I have enough reading to do to waste any more time on this
one. Warm thanks, Mary Anne B.
