I have a mom that has what sounds like a varicose vein that popped through
the skin on the breast. She says that it looks like a little blood blister.
It has recently gotten bigger. Her OB doc said to put Preparation H on it to
reduce the swelling (of course be careful not to get it near where the baby
will be nursing). And He told her that if it starts to hurt she may have to
stop nursing. It doesn't hurt. She really wants to be able to nurse her
baby to a year.
Is there anything else she can do to reduce the swelling?

I searched the archives and only found taking Ibuprofen and cold compresses.
Is there any articles that she can take to her Dr??
I have also searched the web and LLL and found nothing that addresses her
issue.

I am meeting with her this evening and would like to have something to help
support her.
Thanks in advance.
Jennifer
