Just a couple of thoughts on this one. Baby may not have gotten a bottle
but she very well may have gotten a pacifier in the nursery, "to calm her"
while she waited her turn in line along with a dozen other babies. Or maybe
Nurse A didn't give her a bottle but Nurse B did, for the same reason.

Or...maybe now that the mature, thinner milk has now come in, baby is having
a hard time channeling the milk to the back of her mouth for swallowing
because of a tongue problem, or she is having swallowing difficulties with
the thinner liquid (that's from the Wolf & Glass conference).

Since mom has a "great" supply and has four breastfed babies under her belt,
she may now have too fast of flow for the little person, compared with
colostrum? Maybe re-evaluate her oral cavity and effectiveness swallowing
the milk during cup-feeding?

Or maybe they were particularly rough during some part of her exam while
apart from mom, and she needs to work through that before she's willing to
go back to breast.

A mystery to be solved. Hey, I have an odd question: if a mom isn't
supposed to bathe for several days following birth, how are they supposed to
bathe together? A sitz bath would make them both wet and chilled.
