In regard to this fascinating discussion of proposed educational and internship requirements, I am wondering how more rigorous standards would be applied to candidates outside the US/Canada/Australia sphere.? How would the international nature of the credential be guaranteed if the quality-standards being discussed were adopted??Would requiring?a college education and supervised internship for a potential IBCLC in the Middle East, Africa or China be realistic??? Does this issue perhaps point to a need to reevaluate the viability of an international credential?
