Since I brought this question up, I'll muse further. Maybe persistant
lanolin use is just a marker for moms with nipple pain,damage that is
candida. maybe no cause/effect with the lanolin.

Agree that use of lanolin as routine is out of place, I let moms know it is
for moist "wound" healing. i do not use it as a prophylactic. Unfortuantely
our hosp gives it out to all moms on standing dr.'s orders. One more thing
we need to educate about, but that is not on the top of my list.
