Boy, this strikes a familiar chord with me.

In May,1985 I moved to Scottsdale, Arizona with my husband and 10 month old
daughter, from Ohio.  He had spent from Feb - May there w/out us while
attending a police academy.  They constantly drummed the high rate of
divorce among police officers to the students, or so he said.  Well, when
our daughter was 18 months old he said nastily to me one day, "don't you
think it's about time you stopped that (breastfeeding, of course.).  And I
said, as ever the compliant wife, "I guess so."  So, we weaned. Three months
later he said he didn't love me anymore and wanted me to take our daughter
and move back to Ohio so that he could "think".  I didn't leave so he moved
out just before her 2nd birthday. I didn't see the indicators until after
the fact, did't even realize that we were having a problem. (He worked so
many odd shifts and extra hours and said he was doing it for "us", and I
thought this was true.

But, I have always felt that he (we)must have been having a problem and
he thought that my ending the BF would help.  Or at least make it easier for
him to get visitations. He was having an affair with a para-legal (a lawyers
assistant)among others.

2nd husband loves my breastfeeding and I am still nursing our almost 5 year
old.  Although, he is only nursing at night for about 2 minutes only a few
times a week. I will miss it.
