Hello Lact-nuts
I, too, confess to be an occasional silicone princess. If it keeps mom
nursing, I'm willing to give it a try. I just have one question for the
experts -- How do you get rid of one?????
I've never had a long term nipple shield user, but now I do. Mom is an
RN and baby is term with a great suck, but won't latch on without it.
We tries snipping off small pieces like the breast feeding answer book
says to do - he wouldn't take it, we've tried faking him out by starting
and switching but he REALLY doesn't like that. Tried rebirthing and a
day in bed with skin to skin and he just won't nurse without it. Mom is
starting to feel a little rejected. She is pumping a couple times a day
to keep milk supply up and he's gaining great. I'm just looking for a
little assistance. BTW - he's 4 weeks old. Is there nusing beyond the
shield for this guy??????
TIA
