I have a mom who is in much need of help.  I first spoke with her about 1-2
months ago.  Middle of the night call with a crying baby and mom.  Sounded
like thrush.  Mom and baby were treated with Nystantin.  Everything fine for
a few weeks.

Baby is now 3 months and mom is in excruciating pain.  She has a rash on her
areolas.  Nursing is too painful.  If anything touches mom's breasts
including clothes, she is in pain.  She is experiencing burning.  She has
bleeding and a pus discharge from her nipples.  Doctor is culturing the
discharge, but said it would be 5 to 10 days for results.  An LC recommended
mom pump for now.  Mom does not want to give up nursing, but it is too
painful.  In the meantime, doctor suggested Gentian Violet.  Mom has been
using it for two days with no relief.

Any suggestions?  What about Dr. Jack's all purpose nipple ointment?
