  the literature/ which is sketchy and contradictory at best.. indicates that
she is at risk for hypoglycemia 5- 7 hours pp which stablizes at 18-24 hours.
( miller, birth and long-term unsupplemented bf in 17 insulin dependent
diabetic mother)

   additionally she will find that she needs less insulin ( up to 50%) while
bf and an increase in carb and protein.
