I have a client that has a 10 day old.
Bili levels were 17, at day 4 went down to 13.
Today they are still at 13.
I am in Canada(Clients dr. is in the US) what is a normal or acceptable
level???
She did not think to ask , and in the archives I did not see anything
that told of ok levels.
Some extra info<<<She is waking baby every 2 hours to nurse, and wanted
to wake baby every hour to see if it made a difference, I advised
against it
Baby has great wet diapers, has 'fair' poopie diapers
sleeps 5 hours at night the client has raw nipples and has started to
use a nipple shield at night to protect her nipples a little from sloppy
latch.
The baby nurses for 10 minutes at a time, and seems to be a very
effective sucker.
Client is wondering how long she should continue to wake the baby every
2 hours as far as the bili levels go, any ideas?
Diane~~
