As a volunteer bfding counselor (by telephone), I have been working with
several moms who are having a hard time keeping their supplies up when
they go back to work full time. They are separated from their babies,
generally about 9 hours per day, 5 days per week, with various electric
breast pumps- the "Pump in Style" by Medela is one that comes to mind.

I have recommended trying to increase frequency of pumping (when possible)
and also renting hospital grade pumps. Also, to consult with an LC for
any kind of herbal or medicinal remedy. (I am not allowed to recommend
herbs/ medical drugs or supplements myself.)

I have a few other questions about this issue.

1) What else can I recommend?

2) What makes a hospital grade pump work better to maintain supply over a
good electric double pump?

3) Finally, from personal experience, it seems like co-sleeping and night
feeds really boost supply. Has this been demonstrated in the research to
have a real effect on a mom's supply?

Thanks!

Pam
