Chain letters or mass appeals for anything are not appropriate to send to
Lactnet, and appeals for money to be sent anywhere are not appropriate,
whether chain letter or not.

If you feel very strongly about alerting Lactnet to something, a few lines
stating, for example, 'XYZ is facing closure. XYZ provides QRS service.
Interested persons can learn more at www.XYZwebsite.com (just an imaginary
example, this is not a website!).' Follow this by your signature and that's
that. As long as such things have *something* to do with breastfeeding we
probably won't get bent out of shape about it.

But keep in mind that many, many Lactnetters are involved in lots of other
causes. Then imagine what would happen to the list if we all succumbed to
the temptation to use Lactnet as a way to reach a couple of thousand
passionate souls for our own favorite causes other than breastfeeding!

If you are in doubt as to the appropriateness of a post to Lactnet, you can
mail the listmothers at [log in to unmask] to ask before
you post it, and we will be glad to reply directly to you, usually within
hours.
