Diane, we use 50 mg sulpiride three times daily for two weeks. Must be
accompanied by frequent and thorough breast drainage to exert maximum effect
and takes about 4 days for mom to notice an appreciable difference in milk
supply. Once she is happy with production she needs to tail this off
slowly, e g 2 capsules per day for about half the time she originally took
the med, then one per day for half the time. This med is similar to
metoclopramide, boosts prolactin levels. I realize that its use may be
controversial and seems only to be prescribed for this purpose in Zimbabwe
and South Africa, but it is used *a lot* here, even for mothers of very
small premie babies. Best wishes.
