I have been missing Lactnet and all of the invaluable info I have been
receiving here. My 13 yr old was in a music chat room on aol and someone
"hacked" our computer. It has been in the shop. We no longer are using
Mediaone (Timbotoo@mediaone) and use aol directly. Thinking I have my
children locked out of potential harmful sites, ha, I was surprised such a
vicious thing could happen to us. What an inconvenience. We now have to
reinstall all of our programs. Lots of data is lost forever. Luckily,
nothing we can't survive without. Just upsetting.

It is great to be back! P.S. Have you ever had moms use "it hurts" as an
excuse to stop nursing in the first hours after birth? They really didn't
want to all along and after just one or two attempted feeding sessions that
was it for them. I tried to help a mom like this (I was called in to see
her). She really wanted nothing to do with me or breastfeeding. She spent
the entire time trying to talk to me about how she researched formulas while
she was pregnant and felt Carnation seemed like the best. I kept my
composure and explained formula is a manufactured product, not natural,
etc....but this woman had already made her mind up and obviously just needed
to let someone know she "tried" to breastfeed. Then I could have kicked
myself for going in her room first when there was another mom down the hall
who REALLY wanted to nurse and needed some help. I missed her feeding. I
try to get the nurses to help me prioritize but it doesn't always work out.
