"Oh my goodness.....this is me. I *often* have mustard on toast at breakfast!
Yum :) But I am normal weight...I can't really think it's a clincher for an eating
disorder. Most mothers with eating disorders will not have breakfast at all,
surely?"

Heather, sorry! I didn't mean to imply that you have an eating disorder. You
are normal weight and happen to like mustard. It's when all the other pieces
fall into place, too, (like a baby who isn't gaining, no maternal fluff on mom)
that we can use this as a clue.

And again, it's not our job to diagnose anyway. However, if a mom calls with
a situation like this and we're asking a million questions trying to help her
figure it out, it's often good to take a break from what may be starting to
seem to the mother like a "cross examination" by telling a story about another
mother. It just changes the focus a bit, she relaxes and listens to the story,
and then she draws her own conclusions about needing to have more fat in
her diet.

The story never uses the term "eating disorder." It just talks about this mom
who is trying so hard to eat a healthy diet that she goes too far. It's
important to keep all the good intentions in there!
