The problem with latch assessment tools is that none of them are reliable.
The only one I think (this is off the top of my head ) is predictive is
LATCH -- and the "prediction" is, if a mom's nipples are sore before she
leaves the hospital, she probably won't be breastfeeding at 3 months.

Marsha Walker has an excellent overview in her second edition of
Breastfeeding Management for the Clinician: Using the Evidence.
