The formula with the bacteria in it is already out in the US. One of the reps came to visit to share "the news". It is being promoted as healthier for the GI tract - the rep did say that it was designed to promote gut flora that is similar to the breastfed baby's (don't get me started). I, of course, questioned her appropriately, and I'm still waiting for the research to back out that claim (!).
Also, they will be adding this new product (forget the name) to all the new baby "gift bags", so we'll all me seeing the product soon. It comes with a green label - I already forgot the name.

Dunedin-based biotechnology firm BLIS Technologies has announced a deal with
food giant Nestle to develop natural antibiotics to beat middle-ear
infections for use in infant formula.

NZX-listed BLIS Technologies will work with Nestle to research and develop
probiotics - naturally occurring bacteria with "built in" defences against
disease causing bacteria - to protect against upper respiratory tract
infections common in infants.

Under the agreement Nestle will fund BLIS research for the development of
probiotics suitable to use in infant formula up to the clinical trial phase.
Nestle will then take responsibility for clinical studies.
