My third baby was rather petite. A pedi. gave me a hard time when she
was about 6 months old, sent me straight to a dietician the same day. I
had to tell her a typical day's intake, and she embarrassingly said 'Well
this looks like enough calories'. I spoke with a friend who had been a
LLL and she suggested putting butter in her cereal, cream cheese on her
crackers, and peanut butter on her crackers (that was 9 years ago). Her
weight was up for the next 2 week check. I thought I didn't want to
artificially influence her rate of weight gain just to please a dr. So I
changed clinics and pedis. My new doc was a petite woman who had 3
rather petite sons. Guess what? NO MORE PROBLEM with Naomi's weight
ever!!
My mom subsequently told me I did not double my weight until one
year old, it is more common to triple the birth weight by one year.
If Naomi had been my first baby instead of my third my confidence
really would have been shot, but I was feeding her very similarly to my
first 2 babies so didn't feel inadequate.
    Hope this is helpful.
