The problem is, most physicians and hospital administrators do not believe
that they interfere with breastfeeding and that formula is harmful.  The
literature on discharge packs was shot to hell by the last article (only one
article) in Pediatrics which said they only made a difference if Mom's
weren't motivated.  My own partners think I am off the deep end quoting the
15 other studies (other countries, don't apply, etc. )and are only to happy
to give out emergency supplies of formula for the poor patients who cannot
afford it!  UGH!!!
