I will re-send a part of Jack Newman's post from July 7, 2000.

>If the baby is otherwise well and gaining, there is no problem with not
>stooling for 10 days. The record I am aware of now is 31 days, and that
>baby might have gone longer if the mother had not gotten cold feet and given
>him a suppository.

Jack Newman, MD, FRCPC

Of course, Jack can add his own (new) comments here.

There are many perfectly healthy breastfed babies who go for long intervals
without stooling. The doctor said, "toxicity can result from lack of
bowel movements", but he/she may not be aware of the compromised health of
a 4 month old who is given apple juice or a laxative.

Look at the baby!
