Regarding Diane's comment: So how many times must one be bringing the child
to breast to be considered to be nurturing the child? Are you saying that
the mom of the 8 month old is not nurturing her child by only breastfeeding
3-4 times a day? What if the child is busy exploring her environment at
that age and does not want to come to breast any more than that, (provided
the child is getting food and a couple bottles at daycare- nutritional needs
being met)? Isn't this about all a 2-4 year old wants to nurse (reports from
friends who nursed toddlers)?

I'm sure there are others on this list who feel they are still nurturing
their children every time they bring them to breast, even if only a few
times a day. And I feel the close, nurturing relationship continues after
weaning, regardless of the age of weaning or who initiated it.

Please be careful in labeling people, you never know who you might offend.
