Hi Virginia,
I would be thinking something the mother is consuming, this could be a
food, drink, additive, or tobacco use for example.
If overactive letdown was the cause then the baby would not have this
symptom after ebm via bottle, I wouldn't think.
I've had a couple interesting cases over the years, one where a mother
consumed large amounts of "espresso coffee" as I recall, and another where
the mother admitted to eating basically only candy all day. The candy in
question was "sour gummy candy" or something. She was not eating real food,
basically.
