Perhaps we should also bear in mind variations in
nursing patterns, and how very little we may know
about that relationship.

Are we in a position yet to declare what is “normal”
in terms of diet, nursing pattern, or stooling
frequency?  Since I see few breastfed babies who gain
slowly or stool infrequently or colorfully, such
babies always get my attention.

What questions, I wonder, have we not yet asked?
